The University of California Berkeley Center for Health Technology (BCHT) contains both research and educational components. The Center conducts research into existing and improved criteria for coverage, consumer cost-sharing, and other dimensions of management for biomedical innovations. The educational component provides academic programs for UC Berkeley graduate students and professional development for health care organizations whose senior staff would benefit from deeper understanding of the innovation, coverage, and reimbursement environment.

From the Director

I am pleased to announce the launch of our website, the public face of the Berkeley Center for Health Technology. We will be using the site to distribute our intellectual output (reports, issue briefs, peer-reviewed studies) and to keep colleagues and visitors abreast of our educational initiatives (workshops, classes, invitational roundtables). Over time, the website will evolve into a resource for keeping track of technology-related public policy and business management initiatives more broadly, above and beyond those directly sponsored by the Center.
